“The Twelve Days of Guyness” Song Parody, 12/01/11 Gratiana Lovelace (Post #67)

Dear Friends,

My good friend Bccmee–of bccmee’s Richard Armitage Vids & Graphics blog (http://fanvideos.wordpress.com)–is doing a “The 12 Days of Guyness” blog activity for Dec. 1 – 12th  this year.  Each day, Bccmee will post a newly created and unique Sir Guy of Gisborne animated gif, signature, wallpaper, or other graphics from suggestions she previously received.

When we were in Armitage World Chat one night talking about Bccmee’s “The 12 Days of Guyness” project, we came up with the idea of me parodying the “12 Days of Christmas Song” a la Sir Guy of Gisborne [(0) right].  Richard Armitage as the smouldering Sir Guy is so gorgeous–bad boy smirk and all–in addition to RA’s brilliant acting and story telling talent.

So below is my song parody video slideshow—“The Twelve Days of Guyness”–in honor of Bccmee’s blog event and dedicated to Richard Crispin Armitage.  The song parody lyrics appear with the pictures in the video.  This is only my fifth video slideshow.  It was created using Windows Movie Maker.  The graphics were created in MS Office clip art, MSPowerpoint and Adobe Photoshop.

Please note that the pictures and lyrics I’ve chosen for my song video parody in no way correspond to what Bccmee is doing each day on her blog—since Bccmee’s media reveals will be a delightful surprise each day.

I urge you to visit Bccmee’s blog (http: //fanvideos.wordpress.com/) each day and enjoy the Sir Guy media that she creates.  You will also find a link to her site on the right in my Blogroll.

Happy Holidays!   Cheers!  Grati  ;->

P.S.  My grateful thanks to the wonderful image resources at RANet:  www.RichardArmitageNet.com.  Detailed image and media resource links appear below in the references.

P.S. (added)  Here are the final list of my song parody lyrics, Sir Guy Style:

On the Twelfth Day of Guyness,
My true love Marian gave to me (and my fans):
Twelve Costumers Out of Work,
Eleven Vipers Viping (at Forest Boy),
Ten Lords a Leaping to Bow Before Me,
Nine Ladies Dancing (to tire me out, never!),
Eight Maid Marian kisses milking me for info,
Seven Stuntmen Swimming for Me,
Six Vasy Dream Slayings,
Five Golden Rings of Power (Sorry, wrong story.)
Four Colleen Birds (Excellent!)
Three French Estate Lands,
Two Leather Gloves,
And Marian and I up a Very Large Tree.

About Gratiana Lovelace

Gratiana Lovelace is my nom de plume for my creative writing and blogging. I write romantic stories in different sub genres. The stories just tumble out of me. My resurgence in creative writing occurred when I viewed the BBC miniseries of Elizabeth Gaskell's novel North & South in February 2010. The exquisitely talented British actor portraying the male lead John Thornton in North & South--Richard Crispin Armitage--became my unofficial muse. I have written over 50 script stories about love--some are fan fiction, but most are original stories--that I am just beginning to share with others on private writer sites, and here on my blog. And as you know, my blog here is also relatively new--since August 2011. But, I'm having fun and I hope you enjoy reading my blog essays and my stories. Cheers! Grati ;-> upd 12/18/11

    LOL! Great job Grati. It’s the right something to start festivities off. :)

  2. April says:

    Well done Grati. :-)

  3. Joanna says:

    LOL! I was trying to sing Grati!
    “Guy in swirling leaves”- I carry this photo in my wallet;) Well, I’m rather pathetic,really:D

    • April says:

      Joanna, I think you’re not the only pathetic here. I’m one too… LOL.

      • Fabi says:

        Can I join you, Joanna and April? I’m completely helpless when I see or think about Sir Guy of Gorgeous… *sigh*
        Grati, you rock! It’s been so funny the last two days, your creations and the lovely people who popped up to make comments.

        • April says:

          Sir Guy of Gorgeous… I looooove that name, swooon.

          Yes, you can join us LOL.

          Gisborne is also my favourite RA’s character… *sigh*

          We are a club of “pathetic girls” and it’s nothing to be ashamed of, LOL LOL LOL:

        • Hi Fabi,
          Thanks for your very kind note. I’m glad that you’re enjoying my holiday spirit Guyness posts. I’m having oodles of fun, too!
          Cheers! Grati ;->

      • Hi April, Joanna, and Fabi,
        We are not pathetic. We are simply sincerely heartfelt admirers of Richard Armitage as an exquisitely talented and versatile actor and storyteller. He has such an effortless charm and magnetism to him, and we are drawn in to his character portrayals he is so convincing and natural/authentic and actor.
        And the fact that Mr. Armitage frequently and shyly professes that he isn’t handsome just makes him seem all the more handsome and charming to us.
        Cheers! Grati ;->

        • April says:

          You have given here a great answer why we like/love this wonderful and talented actor ! :-)

          Mr Armitage needs urgently to look himself in a miror LOL : he is indeed a great actor AND a very handsome man. ;-)

          • Thanks April,
            Richard Armitage is no doubt aware of the allure he creates. Just look at those Project Magazine photos of his (http://www.richardarmitagenet.com/images/gallery/Richard/Promos/ProjectMagJuly2011/album/index.html)–and every other photo shoot of his–and remove all doubt. But his shy self effacing everyday bloke persona is endlessly appealing and charming. Sighhhhhh! *Swoon* *Thud*
            If Mr. Armitage were my younger brother, I would think him sweetly delightful and try and fix him up with a nice, uncomplicated ,kind, and loving girl to love and be happy with. Of course, I don’t really think of Mr. Armitage as a “brother”. Ha!
            But, I’m a very happily married gal of nearly 22 years to my own 6ft 4inch tall fella (compared to my own 5ft 3inch height). So, I’m a very lucky girl–to have love in real life and my sincerely heartfelt admiration for Mr. Armitage, too.
            Wishing you, Mr. Armitage, and everyone else a wonderful holiday season filled with family, friends, fun, and food.
            Cheers and Happy Holidays! Grati ;->

    • Hi Joanna,
      Thanks for your nice note. I, too, love that “dangerously” seductive Sir Guy pose amongst the swirling leaves. Sighhhh! Richard Armitage smoulders so well!
      Thanks for visiting and commenting! Cheers! Grati ;-.

  4. Kitty says:

    This is fabulously funny Gratiana. I wonder, is it coincidental that Marian attempts to “milk” Sir Guy of info pic is shared w/ frozen udders and, another – is there a connection w/ what we do to candy canes (day 12) and Sir Guy’s state of undress? And, just one more – do I detect a strong resemblance of the 3rd “Coleen” from the left to a certain beautiful & sassy facilitator of a FB pg where other beautiful & sassy women come together to show their appreciation for the actor known to his fans as RA? I’m going to have this phrase, “Two-oo leather gloves” stuck in my head the rest of the day.

    • Hi Kitty,
      Thanks for your nice note! Here are my replies to your questions:
      1) Marian’s icicle graphic–I hadn’t thought about them being frozen udders, but good call. Ha! And afterall, Marian was the “ice queen” with regard to keeping poor Sir Guy at her beck and call while secretly spying for Forest Boy–Sir Guy’s love was true and hers was not.
      2) The candy canes on the “12 Costumers out of work” Day of Guyness slide is a visual pun–Guy Candy (versus eye candy, which it is also, Ha!).
      3) As to your mention of the 3rd Colleen–which I’m guessing you mean the dark haired beauty, I should be so lucky to have her charm. But I thank you for the comparison and your kind words of praise. And I agree, we are all beautiful, sassy, intelligent, and delightful ladies who share our admiration for Mr. Armitage with each other in friendships forged around the globe. We are Global Team Armitage!
      4) LOL on your “Two Leather Gloves” Guyness Day reactions. We just love the panther (as Angie labeled him) in his black leathers. Sighhhh!
      I’m glad you enjoyed my video. Now don’t forget to go visit Bccmee’s blog each day.
      Thanks for visiting and commenting. Cheers! Grati ;->

  6. Well Grati, what can I say. As is quite obvious by my chosen name I am completely in love with Guy and the 12 Days of Guysness vid is just what I needed to jump start my day. I love your reference to that “other” show and the Guy candy was brill. I agree with Kitty that the brunette beauty bears a striking resemblence to our eloquent and satirical facilitator ar RAFN.
    Thanks again for this amusing vid . I wish you would put it on YouTube so I can save it to my playlist there :)

    • GratianaDS90 says:

      Hi Jeannie,
      Thanks for your very nice note. I am quite a Sir Guy convert myself–though John Thornton will always claim my heart (as will Lucas North and John Porter, etc.).
      I forget if I tried to register for a You Tube account. Because of the music usage issues that Angie and Bccmee and others were having, I swerved over to having a Vimeo video account. But, I’m not ruling out YouTube for the future.
      Cheers! Grati ;->

  7. bccmee says:

    Very funny and clever! Did anyone else find themselves singing along or was it just me?

    • jules says:

      Nope…I was singing…and doing the actions aswell!!! I’m worn out and it’s only day 1 I shall cancel my gym membership and just dance around to this for the rest of the month. Absolutely brilliant Grati….what a start to what is usually a manic month…this is going to be the best December ever (well apart from next December!!!!!!) luv from a worn out jules xxxx

      • GratianaDS90 says:

        Hi Jules,

        Thanks so much for your very kind note! I glad that you’re enjoying my little video slideshow. But my earlier poem and today’s vid are but complementary companions to a much larger event–Bccmee’s 12 Days of Guyness–that she so kindly included me in on.

        So don’t forget to visit Bccmee’s blog at http://fanvideos.wordpress.com/
        You’ll be glad you did!

        Cheers! Grati ;->

    • GratianaDS90 says:

      Hi Bccmee,
      Thanks for your kind note! Actually, I sang along every time I edited it–so only about 4 dozen times. Ha!
      Cheers! Grati ;->

  8. Elaine says:

    Thank you for the funny, sweet RAy of sunshine on this cold December day! You’ve done an amazing job of fitting images and words to the old standard tune. Nothing old or standard about RA/Sir Guy. Cheers!

  9. chabesquen says:

    Thank you for a wonderful start to the day! You can’t really go wrong with “The Twelve Days of Guyness”. I loved the rings, even if they were from the wrong story…and I’m certainly not going to complain that those twelve costumers got the sack!!! ;)

    • GratianaDS90 says:

      Hi Chabesquen,
      Thanks for your kind note. I’m glad you liked my video slideshow. I just had to throw that Hobbit/LOTR reference in there on the rings since Richard Armitage is currently filming The Hobbit in New Zealand. Ha!
      And as to those poor costumers on the 12th Day of Guyness? I think they made the ultimate sacrifice for their art–knowing when enough is enough, and knowing when less is definitely more. Ha! Sighhhhh! *swoon* *thud*
      Thanks for visiting and commenting! Cheers! Grati ;->

  10. Very well done Grati!
    These 12 Days Guyness… promise to be memorables !

  11. Jane Noble says:

    That was brilliant, excellant, amazing and fantastic <3 Thankyou i totally enjoyed that :-))))))

    • GratianaDS90 says:

      Hi Jane,
      Thanks for your kind note! I’m glad you and everyone are getting enjoyment out of my little vid.
      Cheers! Grati

      P.S. Now everyone, be sure to go over to Bccmee’s blog where she launched her 12 Days of Guyness event that she was kind enough to include me on. You’ll be glad you did. Here is her URL again: http://fanvideos.wordpress.com

    The slideshow turned out great! A lot of fun. Thanks for taking the time to do it.
