CRAzy Captioning: The Warmth Stylings of Spooks’ Lucas North–Pea Coat Envy, 1/22/12 Gratiana Lovelace (Post #111)

Some of my Richard Armitage Fan Gal Pals often wax poetic about the warm and serviceable Pea Coat that Richard Armitage as Lucas North wears in Spooks Series 7, episode 3 [(1) right].

What is it about a double breasted wool “pea coat” that barely covers the bum/tush–no warmth for the legs either–that inspires such interest?  I’m not sure.   Ha!  But the pea coat–and this particular wearer, referred to colloquially as “RA”–has a certain “je ne  sais quois?” about them [(2)].

If you would like to see some of this pea coat whimsy in evidence, then you might visit the delightful and creative new blog by ItsJSforme called “Do I Have a Blog?” [(3a)].  Her December 26, 2011 post with amusing tableaux of Lucas and Sir Guy action figures is priceless!  Here is another pose of Lil Lucas [(3b) left].  Her blog is linked to the right in my blog roll of Richard Armitage blogs and here also is that link for you:   http://doihaveablog.wordpress.com/

So for fun, here is a collage of Lucas North/Richard Armitage pea coat images  A through E [(4) below] that I created with sample captions for our CRAzy Captioning activity today.  Please suggest your own captions as well for each image.  If you click on the image, it will enlarge and you can save it to your computer.  Enjoy!

My grateful thanks to RANEt (www.RichardArmitageNet.net) for their wonderful picture resources [(4) above].

P.S.  For next week’s Fun Day Sunday on January 29th, we’ll be doing another humorous Richard Armitage and British themed “Mad Lib” activity.  So, I need your help and input with that ahead of time.  Please comment to this post by 12 midnight your time on Thursday January 26th with your suggestions for each of the following categories:

1)  proper name (of a real person or a character)–such as Margaret Thatcher,  Sir Guy of Gisborne

2)  noun–such as cell phone, eyes, glove, tattoo, spider, jelly

3)  verb–such as run, play, shoot, love, betray

4)  adjective or adverb–such as tall or wonderfully tall, blue, muscular

5)  Richard Armitage character dialogue quote (only one to three sentences, or a phrase please; and please indicate its origin):  such as  “You’re coming home with me?” (North & South) or “My Dear Delight” (Venetia)

You’ll recall that we had great fun with Jazzbaby1’s suggestion of  “platypus” last time around.  So feel free to think humorously.  Giggles!

About Gratiana Lovelace

Gratiana Lovelace is my nom de plume for my creative writing and blogging. I write romantic stories in different sub genres. The stories just tumble out of me. My resurgence in creative writing occurred when I viewed the BBC miniseries of Elizabeth Gaskell's novel North & South in February 2010. The exquisitely talented British actor portraying the male lead John Thornton in North & South--Richard Crispin Armitage--became my unofficial muse. I have written over 50 script stories about love--some are fan fiction, but most are original stories--that I am just beginning to share with others on private writer sites, and here on my blog. And as you know, my blog here is also relatively new--since August 2011. But, I'm having fun and I hope you enjoy reading my blog essays and my stories. Cheers! Grati ;-> upd 12/18/11

Hi Gratiana. I wasn’t around for the last “Mad Lib” activity – will I find it on your blog somewhere?

As an Australian who’s very familiar with the word “platypus”, I’d be interested to know all about Jazzbaby1’s suggestion – please elaborate!
