Fun Day Sunday: RA Character Quotes Quiz Game by Fabi & Grati, 5/27/12 Gratiana Lovelace (Post #194)

Once again, we are enjoying a Fun Day Sunday Quiz Game activity created by my frequent commenter and friend, Fabi!  Brava Fabi!  I enjoy our collaborations, not only because it is fun to collaborate, but someone else (Fabi) does the leg work on the research for this post (Ha!), and I get to focus on Richard Armitage images.  Snap!

Fabi researched the Richard Armitage character quotes and I provided the graphics and formatting–and the grading scale below.  Fabi really has a nice variety of RA characters included in this quiz game, as well as, she uses some non standard RA character quotes for you to see if you can identify their character.  And I will freely admit, that I am glad that I had the answer key for some of the quotes.  Ha!

I am also trying a new to me WordPress feature with this post–slideshow.  I retrieved Richard Armitage character images closely related to the quotes–or actual scenes for them–that appear in random order in the slideshow as additional clues for you.  And as always, a huge thank you and kudos to the RANet site of Richard Armitage career resources–that is designed and developed by Ali–for the images that I use here in this post.  RANet may be found at:

So, enjoy the RA Character Quotes Quiz Game and do let Fabi and I know how you think you’ve done in identifying the characters.  I will give you a hint that two of the RA characters have two quotes each–so there are eight RA characters represented in the quiz game.  The other characters included just have one quote each.  The full answer key will be revealed at 6:00pm CST (Illinois time):

Q1)   “Let’s just rest here for a while.” — Guy of Gisborne to Meg, Robin Hood season 3 episode 9

Q 2)  “You’re kidding yourself, we both are.” — )       John Standring to Carol, Sparkhouse

Q 3)  “You won’t know England in twenty years.” — Ricky Deeming, Inspector George Gently

Q 4)   “Our only hope has vanished.” — Lucas North, Spooks season 7 episode 4

Q 5)    “Take off one head, two more shall take its place.” — Heinz Kruger, Captain America: The First Avenger

Q 6)    “Don’t do anything until you see me again.” — John Thornton to the police inspector, North & South

Q 7)    “Stay there, don’t move your foot.” — John Porter to Gerry Baxter, Chris Ryan’s Strike Back episode 6

Q 8)  “It’s so romantic round here when you get the juices flowing.” — Harry Kennedy to his sister Rosie, The Vicar of Dibley Christmas Special

Q 9)                 “Give me the code.” — Lucas North, Spooks season 7 episode 1

Q10–“It’s a scratch, I’ll be fine.”  Guy drugged by Isabella   (RH3 epi8 pix 64)

P.S. And here is a non-standardized “grading” scale for the number of quotes and RA characters that you match up correctly:

Zero — You poor thing!  Gals, we need to rally behind our sister here and hold an immediate RA film viewing.  We have to introduce you to the basics–Sparkhouse, North & South, Robin Hood, Spooks and Strike Back series 1, and then expand from there.   So, let’s start with Fanny’s Global North & South Watch–that we can chat about with each other during the watch via blog and Twitter–on the weekend of June 1st, 2nd, & 3rd.  Here is the web site with details:

1 to 3 correct — Have you seen any of the wonderful fan videos set to music and dedicated to Richard Armitage and his character portrayals?  You must immerse yourself in these outstanding videos that touch and inspire us all by their showcasing Richard Armitage at his smouldering smirking sweet and sensual best.  You Tube even has a Richard Armitage Channel now to make it easier for us to find these  fan videos!  Here is that link for you:

There are also lots of lovely RA fan videos on and other sites.

4 to 6 correct — Ah!  We can tell that you are become an aficianado of the wonderful storytelling talent of British actor Richard Crispin Armitage.  But you still might need to brush up on your RA character knowledge a bit.  So here are some of my/Grati’s favorite Richard Armitage resource sites for you to visit for that:

7 to 8 correct— When you are RAted at this level of Richard Armitage character quote knowledge, you might be considered proficient.  So, have you started your own blog devoted to or mostly about RA yet?  If so, please share its name and your link in the comments below.  And if you haven’t started your own blog?  What is stopping you?  Ha!  You can choose to post as often as is comfortable for you.  I’m guessing that you also might be a member of one of the many Facebook groups where ladies share about our admiration for RA and his storytelling gifts.  We have lots of fun!  And of course, who can forget FanstRAvaganza 3 with many RA bloggers participating!?!   The F3 essay links are found at:

9 to 10 correct — Congratulations!   You are now considered to be a “Dame” of the far reaching and global Richard Armitage fan base empire.  You are now in a RArified circle of Richard Armitage Fangirls who admire Richard Armitage as a master storyteller!  You probably own the dvds for all his film work (ka ching, ka ching for RA’s royalty profits.  Ha!), have listened to his audiobooks (such a “Dear Delight”!) and documentary voice over work numerous times, you blog about him, create videos about him, you donate to his chosen charities (see the Just Giving link at, and you probably join us  every night from about 8:00pm to 12midnight CST in Armitage World Chat hosted by the incomparable Miss Judiang at  We are a giggly lovely group of RA admiring gal pals–many of us with blogs of our own.   And just for completeness’ sake, be sure to share your RA related blog name and URL in the comments below.

About Gratiana Lovelace

Gratiana Lovelace is my nom de plume for my creative writing and blogging. I write romantic stories in different sub genres. The stories just tumble out of me. My resurgence in creative writing occurred when I viewed the BBC miniseries of Elizabeth Gaskell's novel North & South in February 2010. The exquisitely talented British actor portraying the male lead John Thornton in North & South--Richard Crispin Armitage--became my unofficial muse. I have written over 50 script stories about love--some are fan fiction, but most are original stories--that I am just beginning to share with others on private writer sites, and here on my blog. And as you know, my blog here is also relatively new--since August 2011. But, I'm having fun and I hope you enjoy reading my blog essays and my stories. Cheers! Grati ;-> upd 12/18/11

    Fun quiz! I think I did pretty well thanks to the clues given. Otherwise it would’ve been a train wreck, LOL! Looking forward to the answer key.

  2. Another funny quiz game Grace. You and Fabi make a great duble. Are the quotes related with the shown pictures?Since I didn´t see cap.America and I saw Sparkhouse only once a long time ago,I guess I ´m going to make some mistakes, but i´ll try, i just need a little more time to think.

    • Hi Tereza,
      Yes, the pictures I chose are related to the quotes–sometimes the exact scene if I knew it.
      Since you haven’t seen Richard Armtiage as Heinz Kruger in Captain America yet–but you know his other roles–you might try using a process of elimination (P.O.E.) of the characters that you are familiar with.
      Thanks for playing! Cheers! Grati ;->

  3. Forget what I said about the pictures.I’m too distracted.

    • Giggles Tereza!
      I know what you mean. I enjoy searching through the RANet Richard Armitage character portrait archives for these activities and my story illustrations. Inevitably, I find other pictures of RA that I remember fondly from before–or that were added to the archives but I had not seen them yet–that slow down my building of the graphics. Ha!
      Cheers! Grati ;->

  4. Dear Readers,
    I have now posted the answer key to Fabi’s quiz above with the picture images and their RANet URL’s should you wish to retrieve them for your own collection. Thanks for playing!
    Cheers! Grati ;->

  5. Fabi says:

    Thanks to Bccmee and Tereza for their support!
    Thank you, Grati, for so kindly accepting my suggestions. I enjoy our collaborative little games. Good night and best wishes,

  6. Ania says:

    Hi Grati and Fabi,
    Unfortunately, yesterday I was out of town and returned late in the evening and I was too tired to look at my favorite RA sites :( so for me it is a Fun Day Monday. :)
    Oh, Fabi, it’s really hard quiz (at least for me). ;) I’m very impressed by your knowledge of RA’s characters.:)
    Thank you girls!

    • Fabi says:

      Hi Ania,
      RA’s performances are truly fascinating, I have a nice compilation of his quotes. Next time the game will be easier. :) Thanks for your support!

    • Hi Ania,
      Oooh! Sorry that you didn’t get to play until the answers were posted. But, we’re glad that you gave it a try anyway.
      Cheers! Grati ;->
