Fun Day Sunday–Comic Con International 2012 and The Hobbit: A Day in Pictures, 7/15/12 Gratiana Lovelace (Post #231)

Yesterday/Saturday July 14th was the day that “The Hobbit” films took Comic Con International 2012 by storm!  I was online all day chatting and posting and retweeting in RAFN, AW Chat, and Twitter–not to mention listening and watching the TORN live broadcasts.  Whew!  Not only were we able to share pictures and video with each other, but we did this instantaneously, synchronously, and around the globe.  Snap!  I love the internet!  And it’s a good thing that I’m also great at multi-tasking.  Ha!

Although I had so many browser windows open via one browser at different points in time that my browser crashed three times yesterday.  Argh!  But that was only after I reached the 8 windows mark.  Ha!  So technology doesn’t get a perfect ten.  But the people on the internet who shared the pictures they snagged certainly do merit a perfect ten.    It allowed those of us who couldn’t attend Comic-Con to experience it virtually.  Thanks!  for more news about Comic-Con, visit http://www.comic-con.org/

I’m too tired to do anything but look at these wonderful images once again–and maybe you are, too.  So, here is a slideshow of some of the Comic-Con Hobbit images that I saved from various above locations.  Thanks to all of the bloggers and sites who shared them.  I’m even too tired to list all of their sources, but suffice it to say that the images were created or shared by this non-inclusive list of:  Comic Con Int’l 2012, Entertainment Weekly, Flickr, RACentral, RANet, Scribblecom, TORN, Tumblr, Warner Home Video,  and a host of bloggers and chatters out there including Fedoralady Fedoralady (the stunning final multicolor and fire shooting gif is from  http://thearmitageeffect.wordpress.com/2012/07/14/hey-now-hes-a-rock-star/), Jonia’s Cut, Heirs of Durin, Kap,  ItsJSforMe, Judiang, and SillyGilly, etc.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

And let’s watch the TORN and EW interviews again:

About Gratiana Lovelace

Gratiana Lovelace is my nom de plume for my creative writing and blogging. I write romantic stories in different sub genres. The stories just tumble out of me. My resurgence in creative writing occurred when I viewed the BBC miniseries of Elizabeth Gaskell's novel North & South in February 2010. The exquisitely talented British actor portraying the male lead John Thornton in North & South--Richard Crispin Armitage--became my unofficial muse. I have written over 50 script stories about love--some are fan fiction, but most are original stories--that I am just beginning to share with others on private writer sites, and here on my blog. And as you know, my blog here is also relatively new--since August 2011. But, I'm having fun and I hope you enjoy reading my blog essays and my stories. Cheers! Grati ;-> upd 12/18/11

  1. By the way, the Thorin fire shooting gif near the close of the slideshow is the only non-Comic-Con image in the slideshow. But I just loved it when I saw it on Fedoralady’s blog and had to include it here.
You see, I have “gif envy”. Ha! my laptop is only 32 bit, and you need a 64 bit system to be able to make gifs. So for now, I content myself with viewing the gifs that other people make–in this case, Fedoralady. Snap!

  2. Ah ha! Folks were commenting in the blogs yesterday about the string necklace around Richard Armitage’s neck at Comic-Con. AnnaPatonNZ was indicated as someone who had shared that RA might have been wearing a Maori necklace and provided a link for that. But since it was retweeted by LoverMrThornton without the link, I was stymied.

However, Fedoralady came through in her blog post today about her reflections upon Comic-Con. Here is the comment and link to Maori necklace symbolism and meaning:

“fedoralady on July 15, 2012 at 7:30 am said:

Good chance the necklace was one of these

So thanks to @AnnaPatonNZ, @LoverMrThornton, and “The Armitage Effect” blogger Fedoralady!
