The 2013 Hobbit Annual is “Thorin-licious”, 9/05/12 Gratiana Lovelace (Post #263)

Everyone is agog with the new Hobbit 2013 Annual and the wonderful character portraits shown here on this page courtesy of RANet (www.RichardArmitageNet.com)–The Hobbit Annual 2013 cover (left) is courtesy of TORN:

And for those of us who are longtime Richard Armitage fans, we are even more delighted to see a feature in the annual on the character of Thorin Oakenshield with more wonderful portraits of Richard Armitage portraying Thorin:

For your ease and convenience in preordering The Hobbit 2013 Annual, RANet (www.RichardArmitageNet.com) has the Amazon US and UK pre-ordering links on their August 30th News page.   Ordering through RANet has the added benefit of the commission fees that RANet receives being donated to one of Richard Armitage’s chosen charities.

And the fact that one actor, Richard Armitage, beguiles us looking like a devastatingly handsome young Prince Thorin (left image) and ages to the more mature King Thorin (middle and right images) eventually ending up to be about 197 years old (in Dwarf years) is an amazing and completely believable transformation:

And I must say that these older looking Thorin portraits are riveting–symbolizing a lion in Summer, not in Winter–with his hair just beginning to be streaked with white, his nose slightly enlarged as happens to men (and Dwarfs it seems) over time, and a ferocity of countenance born of tragedy and bitterness that would give anyone pause.

Richard Armitage is an amazing storyteller based on his previous roles and prolific work to date, as well as our being entranced by him in “The Hobbit Trailer 2011” in a video by riohat:

And here is music video using parts of The Hobbit and LOTR and other images titled “The Hobbit – Misty Mountain Song Music Video with Lyrics” by bccmee:

Mr. Armitage is an acting chameleon who immerses himself in his roles such that you don’t see the actor any more–you only experience the character he portrays.  And with Richard Armitage bringing Thorin Oakenshield to life for all of us with The Hobbit films, Richard Armitage will forever define the role of Thorin Oakenshield.

Below is a wallpaper that I created earlier in the Summer with the oldest Thorin
visage–with Richard Armitage thoughtfully listening to a member of the film crew–that includes a quote from Richard Armitage regarding his feelings about portraying Thorin:

“If  someone told  me  this  was  going  to  be  the  last  piece  of  work  I  ever  do,  I  think  I’d  be  alright  with  that.    I  don’t  want  it  to  be,    but  I  think  I  would  be  satisfied.”

Richard  Armitage  quote  about his role of  Thorin  Oakenshield  from  the

Project  Magazine interview,  July  2011

It is my (and others) firmly held belief, that after Richard Armitage’s  debut onto the world film making stage portraying Thorin Oakenshield in The Hobbit films, I predict that he will have an enriching career in films–with many more  characters to portray and their stories to tell for us to enjoy.

About Gratiana Lovelace

Gratiana Lovelace is my nom de plume for my creative writing and blogging. I write romantic stories in different sub genres. The stories just tumble out of me. My resurgence in creative writing occurred when I viewed the BBC miniseries of Elizabeth Gaskell's novel North & South in February 2010. The exquisitely talented British actor portraying the male lead John Thornton in North & South--Richard Crispin Armitage--became my unofficial muse. I have written over 50 script stories about love--some are fan fiction, but most are original stories--that I am just beginning to share with others on private writer sites, and here on my blog. And as you know, my blog here is also relatively new--since August 2011. But, I'm having fun and I hope you enjoy reading my blog essays and my stories. Cheers! Grati ;-> upd 12/18/11
