Someone Wickedly Handsome This Way Comes: A cRAzy Halloween CelebRAtion, 10/31/12 Gratiana Lovelace (Post #299)

Halloween for the young and the young at heart in the U.S. is about scary tales, decorating one’s home with pumpkins and harvest festival gleanings, dressing up in costumes, and going Trick or Treating throughout the neighborhood, or giving out treats to the Trick or Treaters.

We can also behave differently than we normally might this one day of the year–scaring people by jumping out at them in the dark, drinking jello shots of vodka eyeballs (don’t have the recipe), etc. –perhaps even be a little wicked, however we define that word to be.  Halloween is oodles of fun!
So today, just after Midnight, in the early hours of October 31^st, let us begin … our Halloween  … revels.

Part 1–A Haunting Tale:

Deep in the forlorn woods at twilight, a phantom presence lurks within.
He is part man, part mystery, part malevolent temptation.
The long dead leaves obey his command to rise,
Dancing in frenzied haste to do his bidding as he comes.

He is all lust and greed and anguish and remorse.
Existing forever in torment of what he could not be,
A man whom you would love.
The world has made him thus, merciless, friendless, loveless.

And yet, a fire burns in his heart for you still.
In his despair, he must seek you out to claim you for his own.
Only you can make him whole again, to release him from his hell.
But you must relinquish your most precious possession, your love.

His powerful leather clad arms surround you tenderly, staying your escape.
His piercing blue eyes bore into your innermost secrets—for you are his secret.
His love starved lips capture yours with a kiss so smouldering,
That you weaken in your resolve not to give in to him, to Sir Guy.

For who is more wicked?”  The lover who loves without hope?  Or, the beloved who does not love in return?

Part 2–Halloween/Harvest DecoRAtions

Trick or Treat!  Festively decoRAted home as in the picture below help brighten the Halloween holiday.  Trick or Treaters seeking treats visiting this home will find a “trick” in store for them.  See if you can locate the 15 different.  slightly ghoulish Richard Armitage character images embedded in the graphic below.  You will win extra bragging rights if you can name each character.

Part 3–Halloween Costumes:  Favorite Couple

Dressing up for Halloween is such fun!   The last time I dressed up for Halloween–about 15 years ago–I wore my poofy crinolines from my  wedding dress, a white shirt, a tiara, and I made myself a fairy wand with glitter.  I was Glenda the Good Witch from Wizard of Oz.   Okay, it was a stretch.  Ha!  But I had fun at the neighborhood party.  Snap!

But going to a Halloween party as a couple takes some thought as to whom you might try to be–Antony and Cleopatra, Laurel and Hardy, Harold and Maude, etc.  The last couple are really creepy.  Ha!  But this year, with Richard Armitage as my Halloween Party date–a girl can dream can’t I?  Ha!–I choose to have us go as my favorite Vicar of Dibley couple, Harry and Geraldine, with a twist on Lily and Herman Munster.  Giggles!

Part 4:  Halloween Movie–“The Ghost & Mr. Chicken” (1966)  starring Don Knots

This is such a fun movie!   Don Knotts is hilarious as the scared of his shadow man who takes up the challenge to spend the night in a local mansion reputed to haunted after an infamous and unsolved murder that occurred there 30 years ago.  Below  is the link for start of movie that is broken up into 16 parts, just follow the subsequent links for the whole film.  Enjoy!
