Wild Card Wednesday: Up Next, RA Monking Around in Pilgrimage, March 25, 2015 Gratiana Lovelace (Post #723)

The exquisitely talented British actor Richard Armitage (right) seems to be going from 2014--RichardArmitage-Clsup_Mar2515RCATweet-sizedproject to project–with very little down time between. So that means more choices for RA fans in what we see him in–surely something for everyone. Though a rom com would also be nice.

Next up for RA, filming is soon to begin on “Pilgrimage”, the tale of a group of monks moving a precious religious relic from point A to point B. I am sure that will be interesting. Uh huh. So we can only hope for some monk in-fighting, bawdy girls trying to get under their cassocks, and a skinny dipping scene at a lake to liven things up a bit.  Ha! Just kidding! Me being facetious!  But heck! This film is billed as “action-adventure”.  So monks running amok come to mind. Again, meant facetiously.  Sheesh!

Pilgrimage--RCA-Weibo-Tweet-of-OddNerdomPainting_Mar2215rabulgariaThanks to RA Bulgaria for the copy of RA’s Weibo tweet and image (left). Thanks to Servetus for pointing out the Norwegian contemporary painter as Odd Nerdrum.

“Pilgrimage” will film on location in Ireland and France. And here is some background about the historical period at Perry’s blog.

And for RA’s look as a monk, I’m thinking Sean Connery’s monk cassock in “In the Name of the Rose” mashed up manip with RA’s face (from Laura, Thanks!) and Cadfael’s hairstyle (right).

Finally, here are some RA tweets and other links about RIchard Armitage’s role in “Pilgrimage:

3)  And RA mentioning filming will start soon at

About Gratiana Lovelace

Gratiana Lovelace is my nom de plume for my creative writing and blogging. I write romantic stories in different sub genres. The stories just tumble out of me. My resurgence in creative writing occurred when I viewed the BBC miniseries of Elizabeth Gaskell's novel North & South in February 2010. The exquisitely talented British actor portraying the male lead John Thornton in North & South--Richard Crispin Armitage--became my unofficial muse. I have written over 50 script stories about love--some are fan fiction, but most are original stories--that I am just beginning to share with others on private writer sites, and here on my blog. And as you know, my blog here is also relatively new--since August 2011. But, I'm having fun and I hope you enjoy reading my blog essays and my stories. Cheers! Grati ;-> upd 12/18/11

  4. Mar. 25, 2015–Bless my trivia king hubby to come up with the name of the shaved crown look in my speculativeRA look for Pilgrimage manip in my essay above. The hairstyle is called a “tonsure”. Here is a wiki link to read more about it:
