Happy Mothers’ Day 2016, May 08, 2016  Gratiana Lovelace (Post #907)

Happy Mothers’ Day!
To women who have shared a close & loving bond with another woman who mentored, nurtured, loved, & encouraged them — be they mother, aunt, sister, daughter, niece, or friend — & to women and girls who might yet be seeking a mother in their lives, & to
those of us for whom our cherished memories of our loving mothers are firmly etched
in our hearts forever.

P.S.  The significance of the yellow rose in the wallpaper I created (above) is that it was my late Mother’s favorite flower. The perfection of the layered petals seem to me to be embracing each other—enveloping the petals in a cocoon of love.  And the yellow color is so cheerful, brightening our days.  To honor my Mother’s memory, I included yellow roses in my bridal bouquet and in my attendants’ bouquets–and the yellow rose’s dark green leaves were reflected in the emerald green of my bridesmaids dresses–at my wedding twenty-six and a half years ago.  The meaning of yellow roses is said to embody “friendship, joy, & good health”.  May you experience these gifts—and may you also share them with others.   Love & Hugs!  Gratiana

About Gratiana Lovelace

Gratiana Lovelace is my nom de plume for my creative writing and blogging. I write romantic stories in different sub genres. The stories just tumble out of me. My resurgence in creative writing occurred when I viewed the BBC miniseries of Elizabeth Gaskell's novel North & South in February 2010. The exquisitely talented British actor portraying the male lead John Thornton in North & South--Richard Crispin Armitage--became my unofficial muse. I have written over 50 script stories about love--some are fan fiction, but most are original stories--that I am just beginning to share with others on private writer sites, and here on my blog. And as you know, my blog here is also relatively new--since August 2011. But, I'm having fun and I hope you enjoy reading my blog essays and my stories. Cheers! Grati ;-> upd 12/18/11

  1. Yellow roses are my favourite flowers as well. There were always lots of red ones in others backyards when I was little, and yellows were rare compared to ordinary red. For a birthday or any other occasion, I get yellow flowers from my family, friends, even neighbours. :D

    Happy mothers day to all!
