Love and other ballads for a Saturday afternoon,  November 05, 2016  Gratiana Lovelace (Post#995)

I love to listen to baritone to tenor male voices singing or speaking.  My favorite male singer is Josh Groban.  But I am also quite fond of male singers Lionel Richie and Andrea Bocelli.  And today I feel like some music.   So I hope that you enjoy the music videos below:

“Lionel Richie – Hello (Live) (2007) (HD)”, video by Leo Rem
(with Hello lyrics here)

“Andrea Bocelli – Nessun Dorma”, video by Bocellina
(with Nessun Dorma lyrics and info here)

And lest you think that I’m giving short shrift to the ladies, here are a few of my favorite female singers and their songs:  Lee Ann Womack, Alison Krauss, and Aretha Franklin, and others.  I hope that you enjoy them:

“Alison Krauss – When You Say Nothing At All”,  video by AlisonKraussVEVO

“Aretha Franklin – (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman [1967]”, video by Tatan Brown
(with the lyrics to You make me feel like a natural woman, here)

I could go on and on.  But that is for another Saturday.  I hope that you have a lovely day!

About Gratiana Lovelace

Gratiana Lovelace is my nom de plume for my creative writing and blogging. I write romantic stories in different sub genres. The stories just tumble out of me. My resurgence in creative writing occurred when I viewed the BBC miniseries of Elizabeth Gaskell's novel North & South in February 2010. The exquisitely talented British actor portraying the male lead John Thornton in North & South--Richard Crispin Armitage--became my unofficial muse. I have written over 50 script stories about love--some are fan fiction, but most are original stories--that I am just beginning to share with others on private writer sites, and here on my blog. And as you know, my blog here is also relatively new--since August 2011. But, I'm having fun and I hope you enjoy reading my blog essays and my stories. Cheers! Grati ;-> upd 12/18/11

Great selections and I am quite partial to All I ask of You. When I got married I walked down the aisle to that song. I absolutely love I Hope You Dance and When You Say Nothing at All.

    • Hi valsgal1999, Thanks for your very kind note! I’m glad that you liked my selections above. And “All I ask” is a lovely choice for a wedding processional. Another favorite of mine, Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years” (below), might work for the recessional: Cheers! Grati ;->

  3. November 05, 2016–Another lovely song, “You raise me up”: I had first heard the Celtic Women group sing it. But this Josh Groban version (below), is very lovely, too.

P.S. Here is some more info about the song:
