One week away from a Fantasy Richard Armitage 46th Birthday Party on August 22nd! August 15, 2017 Gratiana Lovelace (Post #1087)

Birthdays are fun!  Especially a Fantasy 46th Richard Armitage Birthday Party by his fans.

So let’s put our party planning hats on, and please suggest certain features of the party– location, time of day, party theme, dress code, food, party activities and games with the birthday boy, and parting gift party favors.

Pick one or more party features and make your fun fantasy party suggestions in a comment below.

I’ll give my suggestions as an example:

Location:  Spirit Ridge Vineyard Resort and Spa in British Columbia, Canada

I have never been there, but it looks cool!  Image found at https://www.pinterest.com/bellstarresorts/spirit-ridge-vineyard-resort-spa/

Time of day:  Late afternoon cocktail partying, with a cool breeze leading us into night-time banquet feast and revelry under the twinkling canopy of the night sky.

Party Theme:  Of Wine and Roses

Dress Code:  dressy casual, for men that means suit jackets but no tie (see below); for women that means flowy dresses or pant suits with an eye to comfortable elegance (not fussy)

Food:  Cuisine from around the world served buffet style so the guests can sample what they want.

Party Activities and Games:  Dancing, of course (with a special dance designated for charity where you can cut in for a one minute dance with RA for a $5 donation toward one of Richard Armitage’s Just Giving charities);   And of course, there will be a photobooth for everyone to take selfies with RA;

Parting Gift Party Favors:   Of Richard Armitage fan made art, such as various favorite Ann Boudreau (see below) and other fan artists made Richard Armitage wallpapers silk screened onto a nifty canvas bag:

Let the Fantasy RA 46th Birthday Party Planning Begin!  Cheers!   Grati  ;->

P.S.  This being a fantasy birthday party for RA, anyone who wants to attend can.  Ha!  And don’t forget to save your spare change for the real Change for Charity Birthday Fundraiser we’re doing.

About Gratiana Lovelace

Gratiana Lovelace is my nom de plume for my creative writing and blogging. I write romantic stories in different sub genres. The stories just tumble out of me. My resurgence in creative writing occurred when I viewed the BBC miniseries of Elizabeth Gaskell's novel North & South in February 2010. The exquisitely talented British actor portraying the male lead John Thornton in North & South--Richard Crispin Armitage--became my unofficial muse. I have written over 50 script stories about love--some are fan fiction, but most are original stories--that I am just beginning to share with others on private writer sites, and here on my blog. And as you know, my blog here is also relatively new--since August 2011. But, I'm having fun and I hope you enjoy reading my blog essays and my stories. Cheers! Grati ;-> upd 12/18/11

I have 2 suggestions to add

1 Entertainment: Performance by group 2 Cellos in 2 parts 1) classical 2) contemporary @ winery

2 Party Games: Charity kissing booth where each person pays $5 per kiss from RA to his favourite charity

    • Hi Kim,

Great suggestions! The classical music would be soothing during the meal, and then giving way to more contemporary dance music later. I was thinking with a DJ for the dance music. Though a waltz or two would not be amiss. ;)

And how could I forget about a charity kissing booth? They are standard for fairs and such. Even a light peck on the cheek from RA is worth $5! Ha!

Thanks for visiting and commenting! Cheers! Grati ;->

The suggestions thus far are excellent, it will suit Richard’s fondness for his thoughtful solitude, his cello, and fife and perhaps a piano, too. His favorite video is Michael Jackson’s ”Do You Remember The Time?” I am left handed with art and music , but please, can you add this melody? I am sure it can be made to an instrumental piece and inserted somewhere appropriate. It will delight him immensely with the impish smile on his face. I might be able to come if i know how actually I can get there. Is Richard coming or an actor will front for him? Can you bring Daniella too? I think she boosted his career to new heights. Many thanks for this marvelous joining of spirits, angels, cherries and sugar plums, Michaelmass in the loveliest month of summer. Alas! August 22 comes only once a year.

  3. Hi eahad,

Thanks for your nice comment and suggestions! However, please note that this is a “Fantasy” RA 46th birthday party–not a “real” one.

So although the lovely looking vineyard resort and spa location that I suggested does exist, we will not be traveling there. We will simply be imagining a birthday party and sharing online about Richard. I hope this does not disappoint, but our imaginations can be fun, too!

Thanks for visiting and commenting! Cheers! Grati ;->

I’ve been to Spirit Ridge for dinner and to Nk’Mip Cellars at the resort to sample their wines! (Nk’Mip Cellars is North America’s first Aboriginal owned-and-operated winery.) I think that their Pinot Noir would be a nice addition to the party.

    • Hi SueBC, Thanks for your kind note! Spirit Ridge Vineyard Resort and Spa does look like a very nice place to visit. Alas, we are doing it only virtually, compared to your actual visit. But thanks for confirming that its wine cellars are good–especially the Pinot Noir! Thanks for Visiting and Commenting! Cheers! Grati ;-:

P.S. And thanks for also following my blog! I don’t always receive that notification, but I did today! Cheers!

  6. August 16, 2017–One area that I forgot to plan for with this “Fantasy” Richard Armitage 46th Birthday Party was the VIP guest list, in addition to his fans. So here are a few suggestions:

Dawn French–his guest starring on her two 2006 wedding episodes was his first real foray into mainstream rom-com. And he did wonderfully well! It would only take another 10 years before he tried comedy again, in NYC play “Love, Love, Love”.

Who might you also suggest for the VIP guest list! Cheers!

You know, I was thinking he might feel a bit uncomfortable if he were the only man! Could we include some of his male co-stars? Rhys Ifans and Leyland Orser perhaps?

      • Great idea! His Berlin Station co-stars you mentioned would be great! And we could add Mina Tander–whom he wanted to keep in his pocket when asked what he wanted to have as a take away from Season 1.

And costars from his other shows or films could be:
The Hobbit: Graham McTavish and Sir Ian McKellen
Captain America, First Avenger: Haley Atwell
StrikeBack, 2010: David Harewood (also counts for RH) and Shelley Conn
        Robin Hood: Luci Griffiths
North & South: Daniela Denby-Ashe, and Brendan Coyle
        etc. Ha!
