Adapted from the novel “Now and Then” (image above via GoodReads) by the late William Corlett, The LGBTQ+ British drama “ Now & Then” (THR, 2020) is—at its heart—the story of a Mother and son finding their way to understanding and love.
The talented British actor Richard Armitage (image above, IMDB 2020) portrays the 50 year old Christopher Metcalfe who returns home for his father’s funeral, “confronting memories of his time in school and an intense, passionate affair he shared with fellow student, Stephen Walker” (THR, 2020). And there will also be flashback scenes with younger actors portraying Christopher and Stephen.
Richard Armitage shared what drew him to this project (THR, 2020):
“This is a beautiful script. The character of Chris resonated with me powerfully. I look forward to inhabiting the role and bringing this script to life,” (THR, 2020).
I’m looking forward to experiencing what is sure to be a heartfelt and moving Richard Armitage film portrayal.
And with the artistically prolific Richard Armitage also filming “The Man from Rome” in 2021, his fans are going to have a bounty of his storytelling to enjoy in the coming years.
