About Gratiana Lovelace

I am a romantic at heart–being very happily married for over 22 years to a wonderful man.  He is the love of my life!  Our wedding flowers were yellow roses, my late mother’s favorite.  Having yellow roses for my bouquet helped me feel like my mother was with me in spirit on my wedding day.  I like to think that she smiled down from heaven and blessed our marriage that day, because my husband and I have been blessed in our love for each other.

I said to one of my college friends recently that the day that I met my husband was the best day of my life–except for every day after that with him in my life.  We are each other’s true hearts’ loving soul mates.    We are very sweet and kind and loving with each other.  And, as one would expect after twenty four years together as a couple–over 22 of them as husband and wife–we have our corny endearments for each other and a plethora of  inside jokes.  We are almost a husband and wife comedy team–as we trade off who is gives the humorous retort when a familiar comedic topic is broached–except our “performances” are only for ourselves.

Our life is not perfect, but it is to us.  We do not take lavish trips, instead we enjoy each other’s company wherever we go–the flea or farmer’s market, a state park, or playing bad golf as we enjoy the scenery and our conversations.  We do not give each other expensive gifts, preferring instead to give each other small presents of flowers, or cards with tender love notes inside.  We donate the funds not spent on ourselves to local charities–because the best gift we always give to each other is our love and our time spent together.  And we are blessed with wonderful nieces and nephews since we were not able to have children of our own.

My romantic heart has burst with writing creativity again since February of 2010 when I happened upon the North & South BBC video from 2004 of the Elizabeth Gaskell tale of true love among clashing cultures and values.  I was completely enthralled with the story and the actors–especially one Mr. Richard Crispin Armitage who played the lead role of John Thornton. Mr. Armitage’s searing and heartfelt portrayal of John Thornton was and is admired by his legions of devoted fans around the world. Mr. Armitage is an exquisitely talented British actor and storyteller who has created other memorable roles since then as Sir Guy of Gisborne in Robin Hood, Lucas North in Spooks, John Porter in Strike Back, and now Thorin Oakenshield in The Hobbit films, to name a few of my favorites of his many roles. It can be no surprise then, that Mr. Armitage is my muse for my romantic script stories–and whom I would want to play the male leads in them.  Of course, I have no delusions that that will ever happen.  But, I’m not ruling it out.  Ha!

      Thanks RAFrenzy!
      Now if I can only figure out a way to not have the “shadow” blog pop up. I’d delete it, but WP makes it sound like my whole site would be deleted–and I don’t want to do that. So, hopefully, you’ll get a chance to see the “Something About Love (A)” blog version which is the most complete blog.
      Thanks and best wishes, Gratiana ;->

  1. Folks,
    The WP Happiness Engineers cleared up the Shadow Blog problem last September. It’s been clear sailing since then.
    Cheers! Grati ;->
