RANet (www.RichardArmitageNet.com) allows visitors to submit a Picture of the Day request ahead of time for their birthday. Well, my birthday is coming up in a few weeks and I can’t decide which Richard Armitage as Thorin portrait to submit.
So I have put together a collage of my favorite Thorin Portrait images. I have two top favorites among the selection–for differing reasons. But I will wait to let you know which ones they are until you have made your suggestions. Ha!
And for fun, here is one of the newer short tv spots for “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” by Warner Brothers Mexico

I like B. Is this the place to put our choices? How on earth are we supposed to have one favorite? You are making it hard for us, Gratiana. ||Giggles||

Hi Brooke,
Good choice! RA as Thorin in portrait B looks very fierce and regal!

I say D ! Thorin is handing you the key to his heart ;) though A is mighty nice; that look in his eyes speaks thousandfolds!

Hi Fanny,
Portrait D is quite nice! I started calling the “Thorin Kissing Key” portrait when it first came out–until I enlarged the image and saw that RA wasn’t actually kissing it. But the label has stuck in my mind. Ha! And Portrait A is …. *swoon* *thud*!
Cheers! Grati;->

Hi Readers,
In my Thorin portrait choice, I hope the image will convey the passion of the warrior king in exile. So I’m “torn” (ha) between selecting an action shot versus one of the posed portraits. Both are very nice. I welcome your thoughts–or even a different image suggestion.
Cheers! Grati;->

I can’t decide too! Thorin always manages to be breathtakingly handsome. But I choose A, the young prince.

Hi Serv!
Though I will grant you that my deciding which RA Thorin picture to choose from is both a banal and a frivolous “problem” to have, it acts as a nice distraction–for me, if for no one else. Ha!
Thanks for the luck! Cheers! Grati ;->

the nice thing about this conundrum is that no matter how you decide, you can’t decide badly :)

11/15/12–RANet has another great scan of a Richard Armitage interview about being Thorin and his makeup from US Weekly for Nov. 20, 2012. Here is the link for the scan:

11/15/12–Thorin has a bad hair day?
Is it me? Or does Thorin’s hair seem flatter on top and on the sides in this scene from the RANet image link below?
1) I suppose Thorin could have forgotten to mouse it–but then, they may have only had deer near by.
2) Or, Thorin might have over done using conditioner on his tresses–thus making his hair hang limp and lifeless.
3) Secretly, I think Thorin played dress up and tried on Gandalf’s wizard hat and it got stuck on his orbital ridge too long–thereby matting down his hair.
Giggles! Just kidding! Ha!
P.S. I cropped, brightened, and sharpened (40) the image:

I made my RA image choice and emailed Ali at RANet. But I’m not revealing which image I chose to maintain the suspense about the POD for Nov. 24th.
