WCW: Grati’s Half Day Stay-cation with My Writing Muse Richard Armitage, July 15, 2015 Gratiana Lovelace (Post #784)

Today I’m taking a half day off from work this afternoon for a stay-cation with my writing 2015--ComicCon-RichardArmitageSmiling_Jul1315LauraDaymuse the exquisitely talented British actor Richard Armitage (RA at SDCC 2015, image shared by Laura Day). Now that’s a brilliant smile! Sighhhh!

I started working on a new story in June about a gruff and sexy farmer–not necessarily of the gentleman farmer variety, but one who gets his hands dirty tilling the soil, despite using modern day farming techniques. And his physique is muscular and taut due to his physical exertions.

Farming scenes come naturally to me because I live in the middle of corn and soybean fields, watching the corn grow tall and strong. Each stalk conveys just one ear of corn, maybe two ears if it’s an anomaly. So the corn stalks are packed tightly together to yield thousands per acre. The green corn stalks golden tasseled tops gently swaying in the breeze as if waving to those driving past.

My inspiration for this character was another farmer. No, not that one–though Mr. Armitage’s John Proctor in The Crucible is definitely inspirational (below via Digital Theatre). Love those guns!

Rather, my inspiration for my gruff and sexy farmer is a little closer to home with some earlier portraits of the real Richard Armitage (left from 2011Project Magazine, via RANet; and right, 2014 by jollytr tumblr via RAFrance, with a link to a fun post they recently shared):

And then the image at right crossed my path yesterday (as tweeted by Cyn). A 2015 Richard 2015--RichardArmitage-inredcap_Jul1415cynArmitage stern faced, wearing a red ball cap and his face in three-quarter profile–with neckage.   Purrr!

I have found my gruff and sexy farmer! He can plow my fields anytime. Kkkhh! Just kidding! *blushes*

Many thanks to the image sources mentioned above! Have a gReAt day!   Cheers! Grati ;->

About Gratiana Lovelace

Gratiana Lovelace is my nom de plume for my creative writing and blogging. I write romantic stories in different sub genres. The stories just tumble out of me. My resurgence in creative writing occurred when I viewed the BBC miniseries of Elizabeth Gaskell's novel North & South in February 2010. The exquisitely talented British actor portraying the male lead John Thornton in North & South--Richard Crispin Armitage--became my unofficial muse. I have written over 50 script stories about love--some are fan fiction, but most are original stories--that I am just beginning to share with others on private writer sites, and here on my blog. And as you know, my blog here is also relatively new--since August 2011. But, I'm having fun and I hope you enjoy reading my blog essays and my stories. Cheers! Grati ;-> upd 12/18/11
