Melissa the Mouse:  Twenty Preferences

Dear Humans,

I’ve noticed of late that various social media sites ask for humans to share their favorites in a list.  I’ve only recently joined Micebook, myself–now that I’m a wireless mouse.  So, in the interest of enhancing inter species–mice and human–understanding and communication, I provide a list of my following preferences, thoughts, favorite quotes, etc.

Very Micely Yours, Melissa the Mouse

1)       “Mice girls finish first.”
2)      “If you can’t say anything mice, then don’t say anything at all.”
3)      “A dog a day keeps the cat away.”
4)       “If at first you don’t get the cheese, gnaw gnaw again.”
5)      “When life gives you curds, make cheese.”
6)      Favorite book:  “Little Mouse on the Prairie”
7)      Favorite book made into a movie:  “Of Mice and Men”
8)      Favorite Play performed by Actor Kevin Spacey:  “The Miceman Cometh”

16)   Least Favorite Techno Pop Group:  Dead Mouse
17)   Least Favorite Musical:  CATS  (except when Richard Armitage performed in it)
18)   Favorite TV Doctor Show:  “Mouse”
19)   Favorite Richard Armitage Brit TV shows and films (Though Mr. Armitage is said to be leonine and cat like in his physicality, I’m willing to give him the benefit of the mouse.):
“Mice I-5” (A covert band of mice agents averting ‘cat-astrophes’ weekly.);
“Spark Mouse” (adapted from the novel, “Wuthering Mice”);
“North & Mouse” (famous line:  “Look back, look back at cheese.”);

“Between the Cheeses” (Relationships are tested when mice couples don’t get enough cheese.);
“Mouse Feet” (A romeo mouse preys on innocent lady mice–for their cheese.);
“The Vicar of Mousely” (Love is in the air, like the smell of a good Stilton cheese.);
“Chris Ryan’s  Strike Mouse” (Risking his life again and again, our mice guy hero discovers that his friend is really a rat.);
“The Mousit” (A band of mice on a quest for the ultimate cheese.)
20)   Favorite Cheese:  Chihuahua Cheese (Although, I can’t figure out how they milk those little dogs.)

About Gratiana Lovelace

Gratiana Lovelace is my nom de plume for my creative writing and blogging. I write romantic stories in different sub genres. The stories just tumble out of me. My resurgence in creative writing occurred when I viewed the BBC miniseries of Elizabeth Gaskell's novel North & South in February 2010. The exquisitely talented British actor portraying the male lead John Thornton in North & South--Richard Crispin Armitage--became my unofficial muse. I have written over 50 script stories about love--some are fan fiction, but most are original stories--that I am just beginning to share with others on private writer sites, and here on my blog. And as you know, my blog here is also relatively new--since August 2011. But, I'm having fun and I hope you enjoy reading my blog essays and my stories. Cheers! Grati ;-> upd 12/18/11

    Momma says you obviously had waaaay too much fun doing this. I don’t know what she means. Personally I liked “a dog a day, keeps the cat away” the best. – Patty the pom

    • Hi Patty,
      Your Momma was right. I did have some mice fun coming up with my list. Though I was distracted several times when I mentioned cheese. Eek! And thank you for your liking my #3. I put that in for you.

    • By the way Patty the Pom,
      My Momma wanted me to ask you to say thank you to your Momma for her. Because your Momma’s whimsical musings about virtual animals and their antics are part of what inspired her to create moi.

    Hi Melissa,
    Mice list, but I can’t agree with item number 3. (Fsssstttt!)
    I love CATS, not only the musical, but all felines of any formats, sizes and colors, obviously. My favorite movie couldn’t be other than Puss in Boots. And I want to tell you something:
    Santa CLAWS never forgets cats!!!

    • Hi Fabi the Gray Cat,
      Thanks for your mice note. Now, now, don’t get catty with me. I do have some cat friends–you being the micest one of the bunch. And I think your movie choice is cute. I just hope Father Christmouse brings me some mice cheese again this year.

    Bwahahahaha, Gratiana!!!! When you consider this – “when mice couples don’t get enough cheese” w/ this – “A band of mice on a quest for the ultimate cheese”, it puts a whole new perspective on “The Mousit”. (I would be willing to wager that you giggled through this entire thought process and post – thanks for the laugh)

    • Hi Miss Kitty,
      Thanks for your mice note. I did have fun writing my little moussay. Eek! giggle! Eek! And I do like your name–contrary to what Fabi the Gray Cat might think about my premouseposition for cats.

    Haha, Melissa the Mouse, I almost adopted the nickname Fabi the Gray Kitty, but didn’t want to be confused with the human Miss Kitty above. I don’t know another name to female cats in English. And because you’re not a cheesy mouse, I will give you a slice of a tradicional Brazilian delicacy: Minas cheese. It’s a favorite of local mice here. Take a look:

    • Dear Fabi,
      The frescal cheese variety of Minas cheese looks delightful! My mice girl mouth is watering already.
      Thanks for sharing your mice Brazilian cultural cheese delicacy with me. Whether it we call them cheese, fromage (in French), or queijo (in Portuguese), I love them all.
      Holiday Cheeses! Melissa the Mouse.
